Fed: Relying on mining boom is foolhardy, says Beazley

KIM BEAZLEY says the government's foolhardy belief that Australia can ride the mining
boom indefinitely .. risks creating a permanently sluggish economy.

The opposition leader says the government is dangerously out of touch .. in relying
on the resources boom.

He's told an industry forum at Parliament House .. relying on Australia's resources
bonanza to underpin economic growth and national prosperity .. exposes a complacent government
with no plan for the future.
