Fed: Labor cannot deliver free child care proposal: Hockey
The federal government says Labor's plan to offer free child care can't be delivered
without raising taxes.
Small Business Minister JOE HOCKEY says the government would love to offer 10 hours
free childcare each week, but there simply isn't the money.
His comment follows a Sydney Morning Herald report that the ALP is considering free
child care and pre-school education.
Mr HOCKEY's told the Seven Network Labor Leader MARK LATHAM is going to promise the
world in the run up to the next election.
He says that in the end, the promises will have to be paid for by tax hikes.
