NSW: New cigarette smoke standards unacceptable: AMA

SYDNEY, Feb 24 AAP - New air quality standards set to be included in Australian Building
Codes would undermine public health initiatives and weaken existing controls over smoking in
workplaces, the Australian Medical Association (AMA) warned today.

The standard, developed by industry body Standards Australia, included air conditioners,
openable doors and windows as acceptable methods of controlling environmental tobacco smoke.
